Acquaint : (አኩዌንት) መተዋወቅ ፣ መለማመድ፣ መዛመድ፣

Abase : (አቤ-ዝ) ራስን ዝቅ ማድረግ፣ ራስን "አነስተኛ ነኝ" ብሎ መገመት፣ መዋረድ፣
example = nor abase himself for the noise of them
በጩሀታችውም እይዋረድም።

Acquit : (አኲዊት) ነጻ መልቀቅ፤ ጥፋተኛነቱን መሻር፣
Example : I belive the judge is likely to acquit him.
ምሳሌ ፡ ዳኛው ተከሳሹን ነጻ ይለቀዋል ብዬ አምናለሁ።

Acquiesce ፡ (አኩየስ) = ያለ ማግሮምረም አሜን ብሎ መቀበል።
example: He has been simply acquiescing to the will of his employer.
ምሳሌ፡ አለቃው ያለውን ሁሉ ሳያጉረመርም አሜን ብሎ ሲቀበል ኖርዋል።

Admonish: (አድሞኒሽ) ገስጾ መምከር፣ "እረ ባክህን ተው" ብሎ መምከር።
example: The pastor admonished some of the people in the congregation for their lack of sympathy towards the homeless.
ምሳሌ ፡ ለድሃ ሃዘን የሌላቸው ምዕመናንኖችን ቄሱ ገሰጻቸው።

Affront - (አፍሮንት) ፊት ለፊት መሳደብ፣ በድፍረት መዛት፤ ማዋረድ ። ንቆ መናገር።
The city's decision to give permission of constructing an adult entertainment bar right next to a church is an affront not only to the religious people but also to us all.
ከቤተክርስትያኑ ጎን የሽርሙጣ ቡና ቤት እንዲሰራ ማዘጋጃው ቤት ፈቃድ መስጠቱ ለምዕመናኑ ብቻ ሳይሆን ለሁላችንም ታላቅ ስድብ ነው ።




Agile: ( አጃይል) ቅኑ፣ ፈጣን፣ ጠንካራ፣ ጤናማ፣ ብርቱ።
Example : At 79 , he is more agile than an 18 year old I know.
ምሳሌ ፡ በ 79 አመቱ ከ 18 አመት ወጣት በላይ ብርቱ ነው።

Ancillary: (አንሲለሪ) ተጨማሪ ፤ ከዋናው ነገር* ጎን ሆኖ የሚታይ:: (ነገር* = ዋጋ ፤ ጥበብ ፤ ስራ)

ባስኬትቦል እንድያው ለ ስሙ ይጫወታል እንጂ፣ ዋናው ዝናው ፉትቦል ላይ ነው።
The students are not happy with the new non tuition ancillary fees.
ለትምህርት ከሚከፍሉት ገንዘብ በተጨማሪ ለሌላ አገልግሎት መክፈላችው ተማሪዎቹን አስቀይሟቸዋል።

Amphiboly: (አም-ፊ-ቦ-ሊ)፡ ግራ የሚያጋባ አነጋገር ፤የማይረዱት አነጋገር። ሁለት ወይም ሶስት ትርጉም ሊኖረው የሚችል አነጋገር።
Abebe told his father he was a fool. (who was the fool?)



Artifice: (አርተፊስ) በዘዴ ወይም በብልሃት ማታለል፤ ማስመሰል። ብልህነት።
this ring is not a real diamond but a brilliant artifice nonetheless.
ይሄ ቀለበት አልማዝ የሚመስል እንቁ ነው እንጂ እውንተኛ አልማዝ እንኳ አይደልም።

Aspersion:(አስ-ፐር-ሽን) ፡ ስድብ፤ ዘለፋ ፤ ወቀሳ፤ ስም ማጥፋት፤ ሀሜት
Casting aspersion on our leaders without tangible proof of wrongdoing is simply a crime against humanity!
ያለተጨባጭ ማስረጃ በመሪዎቻችን ላይ ህሜትን መንዛት በሰው ልጅ ላይ የሚፈጸም ከባድ ወንጀል እንጂ ሌላ ሊባል አይችልም::
